The Stoddart Family Farm is one of Ontario’s largest certified organic farms growing certified organic grains and oilseeds on a land base of almost 1000 acres.  Additionally we are Canada’s premier breeder of White Park cattle.  The White Park are an ancient breed that can be traced back to Pre-Roman times in the British Isles.

We selected “Sustainable Agriculture since 1819” as our tagline because it embodies everything we are trying to accomplish at The Stoddart Family Farm.  “Sustainable”  to us means farming in a way that provides for our family both in the current generation and for the generations to come.  We are certified organic by OCPP, meaning that we do not use any synthetic fertilizers or pesticides.  Our cropping program blends the techniques farmers have used for centuries such as building the soil using cover crops and compost with modern technology such as no-till planting to create a sustainable low footprint farm.

Our herd of White Park cattle represents an opportunity to preserve genetics that were economically important for 2000 years but have fallen out of favour in the last half century because farming practises have changed.  White Park are a thrifty, hardy breed that produce high quality meat on pasture without requiring grain or feedlot production.

The 1819 in our tag line is there to remind us of the stewards of the land that have gone before us.
